Nonviolent Communication

This training is designed for employees, leaders, and teams who want to specifically develop their communication skills based on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by Marshall Rosenberg. It is especially suitable for those who wish to resolve conflicts constructively, communicate with empathy, and promote a culture of appreciation within their organization.

Goal
This offering imparts practical competencies in Nonviolent Communication to enable clear, authentic, and empathetic communication in everyday professional life. The objective is to improve conflict management, strengthen relationship building, and enable trustful collaboration.
Specifically, the training pursues the following goals:

  • Develop understanding of the core principles and mindset of Nonviolent Communication
  • Learn to distinguish facts from judgments
  • Recognize and clearly express one’s own feelings and needs
  • Learn empathetic listening and responding to others
  • Manage conflict situations nonviolently and solution-oriented

  • Foster self-reflection on personal communication patterns and clarify roles  
Training Contents

  • Introduction to the basics and mindset of Nonviolent Communication according to Marshall Rosenberg
  • The four steps of NVC: Observation, Feeling, Need, and Request
  • Practical exercises to perceive one’s own feelings and needs
  • Formulating “I-messages” and training empathetic listening
  • Handling criticism, resistance, and emotionally charged conversations
  • Conflict resolution through Nonviolent Communication: De-escalation and finding common solutions
  • Transfer to the workplace: role plays, case studies, and reflection 

 

Methods
Impulse lectures to convey NVC basics, interactive exercises and role plays to practice the four steps, group and partner work for empathetic listening and formulation, reflection and feedback rounds to deepen individual learning experiences
