Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace

Mental Health: Looking Out Instead of Looking Away

This training is designed for employees at all levels who interact with colleagues in their day-to-day work and want to contribute to a healthy and supportive workplace culture. It is especially valuable for managers, HR professionals, occupational health representatives, and trusted contacts within the organization.

Objectives
Mental health challenges are widespread in today’s workplace – yet they often remain invisible. Many people struggle in silence because colleagues do not know how to address the issue, or because they fear saying the wrong thing.
This training provides participants with practical confidence and clear guidance. They learn how to recognize early warning signs, start supportive conversations with empathy, and guide colleagues toward appropriate professional help – acting as a bridge, not as therapists.
  • Reduce stigma around mental health and foster an open culture of conversation
  • Recognize and better understand common mental health challenges and conditions
  • Identify early warning signs and risk signals at an early stage
  • Conduct supportive and respectful conversations using the P.O.L.E. framework
  • Respond appropriately in acute situations such as suicidal ideation, panic attacks, or psychotic episodes
  • Refer individuals to professional and internal support services effectively
  • Maintain healthy boundaries and offer support without becoming emotionally overwhelmed
